Well apparently everything is thanks to Windows “great design” and their idea to ignore the read only bit; why? I dunno . I haven’t bothered to read their explanation, but at least I’m giving you one solution

1. Open the windows console (Start->Run->cmd)
2. Run the following comand: attrib -r +s “C:\unlock\this\please”
3. You dit it!

That’s it, don’t expect any answer back from the console but if you want to do some checking type: attrib “C:\unlock\this\please”; and please substitute “C:\unlock\this\please” for the real path to your file/folder.

Well, now you have to open the error log and check for the last lines to have a clue of where did you place your fat finger. Wouldn’t be nice if that error was display on your screen, of course it would.

Here is the piece of code that you need to add to your httpd.conf file:

Of course I have found another one, and what it make it different is the similitud with the real situation of a page under construction. Here I leave you a tribut to the Internet workman

It’s that real that even has a curved back … who the hell can stay for 8 hours sitdown in a chair with his/her back straight

If you want to get rid of them, here is the solution:

1. Type “about:config” in Firefox’s location bar (that big horizontal bar on top where you type to go to a different website)
2. Look for the string: browser.display.focus_ring_width
3. The default value is 1 (at least in my browser), change the value to 0

That’s all you have to do to get rid off those dots in your browser but what happened with the rest of human beings that visit your site? Well, there is also a solution for this issue and is to add a simple line of code into your CSS file:

a{ outline: none;}

Easy eh?, have fun.

How this work

It works exactly in the same way that wp_dropdown_categories() function. I only have added the “onchange” argument to the original function to make possible the use of the onchange() event, and the obligatory form because the original function doesn’t include it.

Values accepted by “onchange”:

• 0 = It won’t use onchange() event
• 1 = It will use onchange() event

Instalation and configuration

1. Download altrugon_dropdown_categories.zip
2. Unzip the file
3. Place the folder altrugon_dropdown_categories in your directory wp-content/plugins
4. Activate the plugin
5. Paste this line in your code: <?php altrugon_dropdown_categories(’onchange_submit=1′); ?>
6. Enjoy

Versions

• v1.2: Add an empty option. This is necessary when you don’t have a submit button.
• v1.1: Fix the validation XHTML issue. I have enclosed the select box inside a div which also has a class.
